My sole philosophy, which guides my Vancouver acupuncture practice, is to always treat people with respect, kindness and more than anything, being a good listener.
Meet Breno Zilber, R.Ac
Registered Acupuncturist in Vancouver
I have been involved with acupuncture my whole life. When I was younger, acupuncture helped me a lot with various health issues, and as a practitioner, I have successfully been treating patients for more than three years. I became a registered acupuncturist to help people find the balance between their minds and body. Moreover, in this crazy world, people constantly forget to look inside, take time for themselves, to stop and reassess their life choices, and this has been impacting more and more people’s mental and physical health.
My mission is to open patients’ minds to new health perspectives and help them find a way to a happier, more fulfilling life.
Although acupuncture has been a part of may life for more than 30 years, it has not always been my career. I occupied positions where I had managed multidisciplinary teams, delivered training programs, developed and implement organizational structures, and on it went, but always with people, for people.
I reached a point in my life that I wanted to have interactions with people but in a totally different way: more than work with people, my interest became more focused on how to help them find balance and improve their life quality. The process of healing might be long and sometimes extremely painful, but it gives you a unique opportunity to really establish a deep and meaningful connection with the other person, and that for me is very worthwhile. Acupuncture is giving me the honour and gift of being able to help people every single day.
Breno is in good standing with the College of Traditional Chinese Medicine Practitioners and Acupuncturists of British Columbia (CTCMA).

Traditional Chinese Medicine
Registered Acupuncturists train in Traditional Chinese Medicine, a system of medicine that spans back thousands of years. It encompasses various modalities, many of which you may experience when you work with Breno at Doctors’ Choice Integrative Vancouver:
Registered Acupuncture is recognized by the National Institute of Health (NIH) and the World Health Organization (WHO) to be effective in the treatment of a wide variety of medical problems:
Cold Laser Therapy
The benefits of Vancouver Cold Laser Therapy with our Registered Acupuncturist, Breno, are many and varied. With an extremely high efficacy rate, it is an excellent alternative to surgery and decreases the necessity and dependance upon NSAIDS, analgesics and other medications. If this weren’t enough, Cold Laser Therapy is a fantastic adjective support for other treatment modalities such as Registered Massage Therapy Vancouver, Chiropractics, Acupuncture and Physiotherapy.
Cold Laser Therapy treats the following conditions:

Cold Laser Therapy Vancouver can be used in two distinct ways: by targeting acupuncture treatment points (without the use of needles); or by using Red Light Photons (Infrared) to stimulate healing and reduce pain across broad areas of tissue or bone.

Body Cupping
Vancouver Cupping Therapy is performed by our Registered Acupuncturists. It uses the power of negative pressure therapy to lift tissues to release toxins, stimulate the skin, circulatory and lymphatic systems, clear colon blockages, reduce stretch marks, improve scar tissue and varicose veins. Cupping Therapy is also an extremely beneficial therapy in the arena of Sports Medicine Acupuncture.
When our Registered Acupuncturist moves the cups, the suction (or negative pressure created), feels incredibly relaxing! This tension engages the parasympathetic nervous system, thereby allowing the body to enter a state of deep relaxation. So relaxing in fact, that it is common to fall asleep during a Vancouver Cupping treatment. This deep sense of relaxation can last for hours and sometimes, even days!
The benefits of Body Cupping include the following:

Body cupping is a traditional, time-honoured treatment favoured by millions of people worldwide as it is safe, comfortable, and remarkably effective for many health disorders. In the realm of Sports Medicine Acupuncture, cupping is an incredibly effective technique to promote and support tissue recovery.
Aesthetic Acupuncture
Facial Acupuncture is a comprehensive treatment that views the face as an extension of the meridians of the body. These meridians flow from the soles of the feet to the crown of the head. When the face is needled, blood flow and Qi carries nutrients to the cells. The body then interprets the insertion of needles as a “positive injury” (micro-trauma) which results in the stimulation of fibroblastic cells and an increase collagen output.
The benefits of Cosmetic Acupuncture include:
